FAQs

Straight answers, before you spend anything

Everything below is our actual policy, taken from the procedures we run the business on. Where the honest answer has a caveat, the caveat is in the answer.

01

Samples & ordering

How do samples work?

$4.99 each, delivered anywhere in Florida, and the cost comes off your order when you buy. Order before 2 PM and it ships the same day; you will have it in 2–3 business days.

Order more than you think you need. A colour that looks right on a screen can look completely different next to your cabinets in afternoon light, and $15 of samples is a cheap way to avoid re-flooring a room.

Can I see a floor in my own room before I buy?

Yes. The room visualizer takes a photograph of your actual room and lays the real plank texture into it — not a flat colour swatch. It runs in the browser, and it is free.

How much should I order?

Measure the room, then add 10% for cuts and waste. Add 15% if you are running the plank diagonally or the room has a lot of angles. The flooring calculator does this for you and converts it to whole boxes.

Order the overage in the same run. Dye lots vary slightly between production batches, and a box bought three months later may not match.

Is everything on the site actually in stock?

Yes. We hold stock in three Florida warehouses — Jacksonville, Miami and Orlando — and the shop shows what is on the shelf. We are not drop-shipping from a mill in Asia and hoping.

02

Product & specs

Is it really waterproof?

The plank is. Every floor we sell is a rigid SPC core, which is stone and plastic — there is no wood in it to swell, so standing water on the surface does nothing.

The honest caveat: a floating floor has seams. Water that sits for days, or comes up through a slab from underneath, can get beneath the floor even though the planks themselves are unharmed. Waterproof means the plank survives a spilled bucket, not that a burst pipe is a non-event.

What is the difference between a 20 mil and a 22 mil wear layer?

Mils are thousandths of an inch, and the wear layer is the clear top coat that takes the scratches. 20 mil is right for a family home. 22 mil is what we would specify for a rental, a hallway, a house with big dogs, or anywhere the floor gets treated badly.

Thickness in millimetres is a different number and does something different — it changes how solid the floor feels and how well it bridges an uneven slab, not how well it resists scratching. The full explanation is here.

Do I need underlayment?

No. Every plank we sell already has IXPE acoustic backing bonded to it at the factory. Adding a second pad underneath is not an upgrade — it makes the floor spongy and can void the locking-system warranty.

What warranty comes with it?

30 years residential, 10 years light commercial, against manufacturing defects — delamination, print-layer failure and locking-system failure. The technical documents page has the per-collection detail.

Will it fade in Florida sun?

Not meaningfully. The print layer is UV-stable and sits under the wear layer. What does happen in a room with a west-facing slider is heat: rigid SPC is far more dimensionally stable than a WPC core, which is why we stock SPC. You still leave the expansion gap at the walls. More on Florida heat and humidity.

03

Installation

Can I install it over my existing tile?

Usually, yes — and it saves you the demolition, the dumpster and several days. The rule is the grout lines: if they are wider than about a quarter inch or deeper than an eighth, they telegraph through and need skim-coating first. The full test is in this guide.

Can I install it myself?

Plenty of our customers do. It is click-lock floating plank — no glue, no nails, no special tools beyond a utility knife, a tapping block and a square. A competent DIYer does a bedroom in an afternoon. Step by step, here.

If you would rather not, tell us where the job is and we will point you at installers we have worked with.

Does it need to acclimate?

Give it 24–48 hours in the room it is going into, boxes flat and unopened, at normal living temperature. Not in a hot garage, and not in a house with the air conditioning off.

04

Delivery

How long will it take to arrive?

Allow 1–2 business days for us to pick and ship once payment clears, then 3–5 business days in transit for one to three boxes or 4–8 for a freight order of four or more. Samples are the exception: same-day dispatch before 2 PM, 2–3 days to your door.

Is delivery curbside?

Freight deliveries are curbside, by appointment. The driver puts the pallet on the curb; they do not bring it inside. Have a second person available. Full shipping detail here.

What if my order arrives damaged?

Note it on the delivery receipt before you sign, photograph it, and send us the photographs within 48 hours. Do not refuse the shipment — refusing voids most freight claims and makes the rest far harder to put right. Accept it, write the damage on the receipt, photograph it, and call us. We replace damaged boxes while the carrier claim runs.

05

Returns & claims

Can I return what I did not use?

Unopened boxes, within 7 days of delivery, in original packaging — yes. Call us for a return authorisation number before you ship anything back; boxes that turn up without one cannot be processed. You arrange and pay the return freight, and once we have inspected it we refund within three business days, less the original freight cost and a 30% restocking fee.

Opened boxes we cannot take back, even if the planks were never laid. And flooring that has been installed cannot be returned for any reason — that is industry-wide, not a policy of ours. Which is exactly why we would rather you ordered $15 of samples first.

What if the product is defective?

Send us photographs within six months of delivery — a close-up of the fault and a wide shot showing where it sits. If it is a genuine manufacturing defect — warping, delamination, a print fault, a locking system that will not hold — we cover it, including the freight.

What that looks like depends on scale: a handful of bad planks and we ship replacements, no return needed; a bad box and we replace the box; a batch problem and we replace the order. There is no restocking fee and no return freight on a defect — that is our problem, not yours.

If the photographs show an installation error rather than a defect, we will tell you that honestly and help you work out the fix.

You sent the wrong thing.

Tell us within seven days and send a photograph of what turned up. If we shipped the wrong SKU or colour, that is entirely on us: we ship the right product and cover the freight both ways.

Are samples refundable?

No — but the cost of every sample comes off your order when you buy, so in practice they are free to anyone who goes ahead.

06

Payment

How do I pay?

Card or PayPal online. For orders over $5,000 we can take ACH. We also take Zelle, and Synchrony Bank financing is available if you would rather spread it.

Do you offer contractor terms?

Yes, once we know each other. New contractor accounts pay upfront for the first two orders; after that we can talk about net terms. Flooring retailers and container orders run on a deposit plus balance. Call (786) 723-7407.

Is the price on the site the final price?

The per-square-foot price is the product. Freight is quoted separately against your ZIP and shown to you before you approve the order, so the total you approve is the total you pay. Why the pricing works like this.
