Pinellas County, Florida
Luxury vinyl plank flooring in St. Petersburg
St. Petersburg is the one market on our list where a good share of the houses are not on a slab: the 1920s to 1950s bungalows in the Old Northeast, Kenwood and Crescent Lake sit on wood subfloors over crawlspaces.
What St. Petersburg homes usually need
That changes the checklist. Over a wood subfloor the questions are deflection and flatness rather than moisture; a plank that bridges a slab's dips will also telegraph a subfloor seam, so a thicker core and a straightedge matter more here than anywhere else we ship. Downtown and along the waterfront the stock is condos with association rules, and in Shore Acres and the low neighborhoods it is slab houses in flood zones where a waterproof floor is a repair strategy, not a feature.
Pinellas is also the densest county in the state, which means the freight truck deals with narrow brick streets and alley access in the older neighborhoods. Tell us if the house is on an alley or a brick street and the carrier will plan for it. For the over-tile question in the slab houses, the over-tile guide applies.
Nearly every floor we stock is the extra-long XL 9"x60" format. Not sure where to buy? Read the Florida waterproof LVP buyer’s guide.

How delivery to St. Petersburg works
Pinellas ships from our distribution partner's Orlando warehouse (EIR 6.5mm, SSR 6.5mm, Ultra Clean SPC, XD-5.5mm: 31 floors), about 105 miles down I-4 and across the Howard Frankland, roughly two hours. Clearwater, Largo, Pinellas Park and the beaches get the same flat $300 per pallet. Alley or brick-street access and any condo dock hours belong in the quote request.
Delivery is a flat $300 per pallet of 42 boxes, 500 sq ft minimum order: 1 to 2 business days to pick and ship after payment clears, then 4 to 8 business days in transit, curbside on a pallet with a liftgate. The delivery checklist covers the day itself.
Floors we would put down in St. Petersburg
| Collection | Thickness / wear layer | Per sq ft | Ships from | Why it fits St. Petersburg |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ultra Clean SPC (16 colors) | 6.5mm / 20mil | $2.09 | Orlando | 6.5 mm, 20 mil, 16 colors from Orlando: the default for a slab house or a rental in Pinellas |
| SSR 6.5mm (5 colors) | 6.5mm / 20mil | $2.09 | Orlando | The same core from the same partner warehouse in a different color family, for matching an older house's woodwork |
| XD8 Series (6 colors) | 8mm / 22mil | $2.49 | Jacksonville | 8 mm and 22 mil for the bungalow on a wood subfloor, where the stiffest core hides the most |
Every floor we stock is a waterproof SPC rigid core, 5 to 8 mm, 20 or 22 mil, with an IXPE pad attached. Prices are per square foot as published on each floor page; the calculator turns your square footage into boxes.
Questions we get from St. Petersburg
- My house is on a wood subfloor over a crawlspace. Is LVP still the right floor?
- Yes, if the subfloor is solid and flat. Screw down any squeaks, check flatness with a 10 foot straightedge, and choose a thicker plank; the attached pad handles the sound. Moisture from the crawlspace is a ventilation question to solve before any floor goes down.
- Do you deliver to Clearwater, Largo and the beaches?
- Yes, all of Pinellas County from the Orlando partner warehouse, at the same flat $300 per pallet: Clearwater, Largo, Pinellas Park, Dunedin, Palm Harbor, St. Pete Beach and Treasure Island.
- Our street is brick and the house is served from an alley. Will the truck manage?
- Tell us when you request the quote. The carrier can stage the pallet at the nearest point a liftgate truck can reach, and we will say if an address needs a smaller vehicle before you pay.
