How to budget for LVP installation in Florida
Start with the floor and the number of boxes. Then add freight, preparation, installation and finishing so the total reflects your actual project.

Start with material, then add the costs of your job
Our catalog currently ranges from $1.59 to $2.49 per square foot for material. Installed cost also depends on your floor area, cut waste, freight, existing floor, subfloor preparation and the installer’s scope. A single statewide installed price cannot describe all of those jobs.
| Cost component | What to include in your quote |
|---|---|
| Flooring material | Whole boxes for your measured area plus a layout-specific waste allowance. |
| Delivery | A flat $300 per pallet of 42 boxes anywhere in Florida, with a 500 sq ft minimum order. Delivery is separate from material. |
| Removal and disposal | Existing flooring, adhesive and debris; ask whether these are included. |
| Subfloor preparation | Assessment, moisture checks and any leveling or repair required by the product instructions. |
| Installation labor | A written quote for your rooms, layout, stairs, doorways and transitions. We sell flooring; labor is arranged separately. |
| Trims and finishing | Matching profiles, baseboards, doorway work and any approved moisture barrier. |
| Tax and other charges | Confirm the final invoice total and any access or scheduling charges before approval. |
Worked example: 1,000 sq ft with APRES Caramel
For this example, start with 1,000 sq ft and allow 10% for cuts: 1,100 sq ft. Divide by this floor’s 22.58 sq ft per box and round up to 49 boxes. That supplies 1106.42 sq ft.
| Calculation | Amount |
|---|---|
| Material rate | $2.19 per sq ft |
| Displayed box price | $49.45 |
| Boxes required | 49 |
| Material estimate using the displayed box price | $2,423.05 |
| Freight, tax, labor, prep and trims | Additional; request a quote for each applicable item. |
This is a material-only example, not an installed quote. The estimate multiplies the rounded box price; a quote calculated from total coverage can differ by a few cents. Ten percent is a planning allowance, not a requirement for every layout. Confirm cuts and any spare boxes with your installer.

Compare installation quotes on the same scope
- Give each installer the same measured rooms and intended product.
- Ask who moves furniture and appliances, removes existing flooring and disposes of waste.
- Identify subfloor preparation as an allowance or a separate priced item after inspection.
- Ask how stairs, door trimming, baseboards and transitions are charged.
- Confirm the material has arrived and has been checked before committing to the installation date.
Keep the written product instructions with the quote. A thicker plank does not remove the need for a properly prepared subfloor. Request the specifications and applicable documents for the floor you choose.
