Hillsborough County, Florida
Luxury vinyl plank flooring in Tampa
Tampa is 85 miles from our distribution partner's Orlando warehouse down I-4, and the market where the most common question is not which floor but whether the old tile has to come up first.
What Tampa homes usually need
Hillsborough has a deep stock of 1960s to 1990s slab houses with ceramic tile through the living areas, and the flippers in Seminole Heights, Town 'n' Country and Brandon do not want to pay to demolish it. Most of the time they do not have to: sound tile, narrow grout joints and a thick enough plank, and the new floor goes straight on top. The rest of the volume is new construction in Riverview, Wesley Chapel and Land O' Lakes, where a builder or an owner is flooring a whole house at once.
For the tile question the over-tile guide has the three checks and the height math at the doors. For the new build, the calculator turns square feet into boxes at each floor's price, and the installation cost guide covers what the labor quote should list.
Nearly every floor we stock is the extra-long XL 9"x60" format. Not sure where to buy? Read the Florida waterproof LVP buyer’s guide.
Delivery details for the whole Gulf Coast are on the Tampa Bay & Sarasota delivery page.
How delivery to Tampa works
Tampa and the rest of Hillsborough and Pasco ship from Orlando (EIR 6.5mm, SSR 6.5mm, Ultra Clean SPC, XD-5.5mm: 31 floors), under two hours by truck. Brandon, Riverview, Wesley Chapel and Land O' Lakes get the same flat $300 per pallet; so do Sarasota and Bradenton to the south, on the same route down I-75. Curbside with a liftgate; flips with no one living on site need a contact who will be there.
Delivery is a flat $300 per pallet of 42 boxes, 500 sq ft minimum order: 1 to 2 business days to pick and ship after payment clears, then 4 to 8 business days in transit, curbside on a pallet with a liftgate. The delivery checklist covers the day itself.
Floors we would put down in Tampa
| Collection | Thickness / wear layer | Per sq ft | Ships from | Why it fits Tampa |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ultra Clean SPC (16 colors) | 6.5mm / 20mil | $2.09 | Orlando | 6.5 mm, 20 mil, 16 colors, from Orlando: the plank we would put over sound tile in a flip |
| EIR 6.5mm (5 colors) | 6.5mm / 20mil | $2.09 | Orlando | The same core with an embossed-in-register grain, for a house that will be sold on its finishes |
| XD8 Series (6 colors) | 8mm / 22mil | $2.49 | Jacksonville | 8 mm and 22 mil for wider grout joints and long runs in a new-build great room |
Every floor we stock is a waterproof SPC rigid core, 5 to 8 mm, 20 or 22 mil, with an IXPE pad attached. Prices are per square foot as published on each floor page; the calculator turns your square footage into boxes.
Questions we get from Tampa
- Can I put LVP over the tile in my Tampa house without pulling it up?
- Usually. The tile has to be solid, flat within 3/16 of an inch over 10 feet, and the grout joints narrower than about a quarter inch or skimmed flush. Then a 6.5 mm or thicker plank floats over it with its attached pad and nothing else.
- Do you deliver to Sarasota and Bradenton?
- Yes, at the same flat $300 per pallet, from the Orlando partner warehouse on the same I-75 route: Sarasota, Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch, Venice and North Port. The Tampa Bay and Sarasota delivery page has the town list.
- How do I take delivery at a flip where nobody lives?
- Give us a contact who can be on site for the carrier's call and the delivery window. The pallet comes off at the curb or driveway with a liftgate; it should not sit outside overnight.
