Clearance and discontinued flooring
Our prices look like clearance prices because the supply chain is shorter, not because the floor is seconds. Here is exactly what that means, including the one real catch.
Why our prices look like clearance prices
Because the supply chain is shorter, not because the floor is seconds. We buy full containers directly from the mills that press flooring for the major brands, warehouse it in Florida, and sell it from the pallet. There is no importer margin, no distributor margin, no showroom lease and no commissioned sales floor.
Those four costs are most of the gap between $1.59 and what the same construction sells for at retail. Everything we list is first-quality, current stock with a full 30-year residential warranty.
What actually goes on clearance, and why
- End of a container run. When a colour gets down to the last pallets we would rather move them than hold the space.
- Discontinued colours. Mills refresh ranges. A colour being retired says nothing about the plank — it is the same construction as the one replacing it.
- Overstock. We occasionally buy more of a strong seller than the season absorbs.
- Short lots. Sometimes there is only enough left for one or two rooms.
What we do not sell: seconds, factory rejects, or planks with printing or milling faults. If a floor is on the site it is first quality.
The one real catch: dye lots
This is the honest constraint on any clearance flooring, ours included.
Planks are printed in production runs, and runs differ very slightly in colour. When a colour is down to its last pallets, what is on the shelf is what exists — we cannot order more of that lot. So:
- Measure properly and add your waste allowance before you order. Our calculator does the box maths.
- Order the whole job at once, including a spare box.
- Keep the spare flat and indoors. It is your repair stock for the next twenty years, and a later dye lot will not match it.
This is true of all flooring. It just matters more when the lot is finite.

The whole catalog is live inventory — 76 floors from $1.59 to $2.49 per square foot, in Florida warehouses rather than on a boat. If a floor is listed, it is on a shelf.

Because the mill has moved on to a new range, not because anything is wrong with it. The construction is the same as the colour that replaced it. The only real consequence is that the supply is finite, so order the whole job at once.
Planks are printed in production runs and runs differ slightly in colour. Two boxes from different lots can be visibly different side by side. Order everything at once, including a spare box, and keep the spare as repair stock.
Ten percent over your measured area for a standard straight lay, fifteen for diagonal patterns or a cut-up floor plan. The calculator works it out and rounds to whole boxes.
