How Galao reads in a room
Galao reads warm and open — the kind of pale, honeyed oak that makes a room feel larger and hides Florida sand between cleans. Planks are 9″x60″, which is a wide, long board — fewer seams across a floor, and it makes a small room look longer than a narrow strip would.
Where a 22mil, 7mm floor works
A 22mil wear layer is the heaviest we stock. It is rated for commercial traffic, which in a house means dogs, dragged dining chairs and a hallway that never gets a break.
7mm rigid core is the everyday standard — stable underfoot, forgiving over a reasonably flat slab, and thin enough to clear most door jambs without undercutting. The attached IXPE pad takes the hollow click out of the step and quiets the room below.

Questions about Galao
Usually yes. This is a floating rigid-core plank, so it does not bond to what is underneath. The deciding factor is grout lines — wide or deep joints telegraph through, and at 7mm you have reasonable margin than a thicker board.
Each box covers 22.58 sq ft, so we round up to whole boxes and add 10% for cuts. The table above shows the real box count for three common room sizes.
The core is, yes — it is rigid SPC, so standing water will not swell it the way it swells laminate. The warranty is 30 years residential and 10 years commercial.
