How Nordic Shadow reads in a room
Nordic Shadow sits in the warm mid-range most people picture when they say wood floor — enough colour to feel grounded, light enough not to close a room in. Planks are 9″x60″, which is a wide, long board — fewer seams across a floor, and it makes a small room look longer than a narrow strip would.
Where a 22mil, 8mm floor works
A 22mil wear layer is the heaviest we stock. It is rated for commercial traffic, which in a house means dogs, dragged dining chairs and a hallway that never gets a break.
At 8mm this is among the thickest planks we carry. The extra rigid core spans small subfloor dips better than a thin plank, so it is the safer choice over an older, less-than-flat slab. The attached IXPE pad takes the hollow click out of the step and quiets the room below.
